What are the PMI-SAC Awards?

Every two years, the Project Management Institute - Southern Alberta Chapter, hosts an Awards Gala to recognize excellence in project management. This is an opportunity to recognize local projects and project managers and acknowledge the contributions of these individuals.

What are the award categories?

There are six award categories. They are…

• Project of the Year – Business and Information Technology
• Project of the Year – Engineering and Construction
• Project of the Year – Community Advancement
• Project Management Excellence by an Organization
• Professional Development Provider in Project Management
• People’s Choice Award for Project of the Year

Who is eligible?

Anyone may submit a nomination for any category, except, of course, the People’s Choice Award. Projects need to be substantially complete as of June 2012.

When?

The next PMI-SAC Awards Gala will take place in November 2012, in conjunction with the 2012 PMI-SAC Professional Development Conference.

Why submit a nomination?

It really is very simple! This is an opportunity to showcase projects and celebrate the hard work of our local project managers and project teams who deliver projects of real value to our community.

Nominations

The formal nomination process will begin in spring 2012. Nominations will be open until early fall 2012.

There will be more information forthcoming and you are encouraged to put some thought into the award categories above and consider a nomination.
